BANQUETTE SEATING – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Banquette seating has always been used in restaurant and bar design. It can be used simply as seating that runs around a venue, or it can be a statement pieces that catches attention and draws the eye. Go into any restaurant, bar, or café that has a booth or diner style seating and these will always be a customer first choice if given the option of where to sit. It is also a practical option as it allows for flexibility in cover numbers and when its time to give your restaurant a refresh, they can simply be re-upholstered to give them a whole new look and feel.
Fixed seating offers so many options, and here we look at all the things you need to know – from the options available, to their basic construction.
How to incorporate fixed seating within your design?
The beauty of fixed seating and banquette seating the bespoke nature of the product. Our units are designed and created for each individual venue, which means that they can fit every corner, wall and space perfectly and can be built to your design specifications. It can be straight, curved or a combination of both with varying heights and design elements – In terms of layout, the only real limit to what is achievable is the space it’s being installed in.
Banquette seating can be fixed to the wall, so it is literally built into your venue, or it can be loose, which means it can be positioned in the centre of a venue to create dividers, booths and can even have planters incorporated to add a biophilic element.
Both options can be any size – from a couple of meters to 100’s of meters, and we have unrivalled experience in supplying banquette seating to the market, so you know your in safe hands with Hill Cross Furniture.

Banquette Seating Styles
With so many options available, the sky is the limit with your design – here are some of the factors to consider… (download guide)
Shape – are you looking for curved, straight, high back, diner style booths or a statement piece?
Materials – Do you want fabric or leather? A combination of both or an alternative like SiLeather? Do you want your banquette to be a standard timber banquette, or do you want it to be metal in construction?
Base – Do you want kick-boards or feet? Feet (also known as settles) allow for access under the banquette, whereas kick-boards close it off down to the floor and is the more common (and cost effective) option. Or do you want something else?
Capping – Is the banquette going to be edge to edge on walls, or will the ends need capping or finishing, do you want this as a timber panel or with the upholstery taken over the edge?
Stitch Details – You can add creative design elements with stitch details
How bespoke do you want to go? – Although every banquette we produce is bespoke, there tends to be a few more standard styles, but this shouldn’t limit what you want… we can build your banquettes to your exact specifications so whatever your ideas – talk to us about how we can help build your designs.
